Acne is one of the most challenging conditions to treat and, for many patients, hypertrophic (raised) scars and cystic acne are the unfortunate result. These conditions can be treated with an injectable steroid called Kenalog, which reduces inflammation and aids in healing. 

Chemical Peels range in strength, depending upon the concentration of the chemical used. The goal of a chemical peel is to disrupt the top layer of skin in order to effect a healing response that prompts the growth of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of health, young-looking skin. After healing, which can range from one day to several days (or longer, depending on the type of chemical used and its strength), the skin is smoother and surface imperfections are lessened.
